Our fat loss industry is filled with fads which promise to magically melt all your pounds away! We have fad diets which can help you lose weight within a few months, diet pills you simply need to take each day in order to lose weight, etc. In fact, there is no shortage of “magic fat loss products”, though you will rarely hear about a product which magically boosts your metabolism!

I’m not sure why everybody is not concentrating on finding ways of improving their metabolic rate, since it is the main key to fat loss success. In this article you will discover how our metabolic rate effects our body weight and how you could use this tool to get rid of fat permanently!

Do you want rapid fat loss? How fast you will be able to lose weight depends primarily on your metabolic rate. If you have a high metabolism, fast weight loss will be possible for you. Alternatively, with a slow metabolic rate you are less likely to be successful in your weight loss goal. Now perhaps you are wondering how to improve your metabolic rate.

While humans have natural metabolism which keeps us fit and healthy, it is sometimes not sufficient to help you with fast fat loss. If you want to burn fat fast, you need to increase your metabolic rate to higher levels! There are diet pills which promise to skyrocket your metabolism in no time; however they may have some harmful side effects, not to mention that the metabolism increase you gain using them is short-lived. Diet pills are, therefore, not a long-term solution for fitness & weight loss.

In my opinion the most effective way of boosting your metabolism naturally is by increasing your lean muscle mass. The more muscles you have, the higher your metabolic rate should be and the quicker you should lose fat. Fortunately muscle building doesn’t cost an arm and a leg; you can do it with the help of burn fat exercises!

Doing intense regularly would help you achieve fast weight loss. These strenuous exercises may appear to be difficult at first glance, but unlike cardios, you only need to do them for 15-20 minutes daily. In spending as little as twenty minutes a day, you would be able to burn weight rapidly as well as build strong lean muscles at the same time. These muscles will help you burn weight even when you are not exercising! So what are the best intense exercises for this purpose?

Undoubtedly, weight lifting comes to mind the moment I think of intense exercises. People wrongly believe that they need to do a number of low intensity repetitions with light weights in order to derive the maximum benefit from weight lifting. Truth to be told, the higher and shorter your reps are, and the heavier your weights, the quicker you should burn fat and lose weight. It’s recommended that you do no more than 10-15 reps, but you should ensure that the weights you use are weightier than five or six pounds!

As you would be doing strenuous exercises, it is important that you take in plenty of water. If your body remains hydrated , you would find exercising much less strenuous, as water will help your body recover quickly from the strain of these workouts! It’s also important to consider fat burning diets as well as proper hydration.

In addition, water is itself a great metabolism booster as well as an excellent detoxifier that cleans toxins from our body. The minimum recommended water intake for a normal adult is about eight to ten glasses a day.

Massage therapy is a traditional form of health care that is thousands of years old. It dates back to ancient eastern medicine.

The means to help people by massaging muscles and forcing blood flow to areas of the body that don’t normally get it, is a great way to prevent bad health.

The treatment of massage is also a great stress reducer.

Over 90% of doctors visits have started because of a stress related illness.

If we could reduce our stress is it possible to reduce our risk of a stress related illness from begining?

Is it possible to prevent stress related illnesses from getting worse and creating more problems?

Could we actually extend our lives?

The answer to all of these questions is yes.

There are different types of massage that are beneficial. Actually all are. They different types may appeal to some more than others.

There is one type of unwinding massage I have always been facinated with. The form is called Rolfing. It involves 12 different sessions that actually manipulate your muscular structure to a more reasonable form. The way we are supposed to be. Our lives and work tend to alter that and puts a lot of strain on our bodies and our muscles.

Extra weight that a lot of people carry around does not help that situation at all.

If our muscles are strained, they can atrophy. The muscles also need oxygen to perform their duties properly and cannot do that if they are not aligned properly and are cutoff due to strain and stress that is put upon them.

Go out and find a massage therapist and get one. Put it in your schedule as a needed part of your life and you will feel better, more relaxed and will help to prolong your life in a healthier way.

Hello my fellow Zumba fitness instructors!! I have been asked several times about proper warm-ups and cool downs. By textbook, a WARM UP is to prepare the body for vigorous exercise and may reduce the risk of injury. When I do an instructor training class for group exercise or Zumba fitness master class I always tell my students to think about what they are going to be doing in class and to use the warm up to get the body ready for those types of moves. For example, inZumba (Latin type classes) you want to warm your class up with directional movements, arm movements, hip movements and feet movement to name a few. When planning your warm up you want to keep this in mind. LASTLY, your warm up should be very carefree…I usually don’t choreograph this portion of my Zumba class.

I just MOVE, focus on what I mentioned above and use this time to GET IN TUNE WITH MY ZUMBA CLASS. I usually talk and “have fun”, make eye contact and smile at each person and I also watch my class and see how they are moving with these basic moves in the warm-up it usually tells me a lot. I can then adjust my Zumba class accordingly. If there is a new move in one of your Zumba routines, the warm up is a great place to “show it” so then when that routine comes up they have already been introduced and they will feel more accomplished when they do that new Zumba workout! OKAY…NOW THE OTHER END..THE COOL DOWN..by text book the purpose of the cool down is to provide a transitional period between the “work” segment and the stretch/muscular strengthening segments of your class.

Without a gradual cool down period, the blood can pool in the extremities immediately and cause fainting. Moderate to slow rhythmic movements for the upper and lower body will enable the muscles of the extremities to pump the blood back to the heart and brain. You want to use this time to bring the heart rate back down (100 beats or less). U really want to use the easy foot movement (side to side)…a slow salsa.. to bring the heart rate down…use movements that stretch the areas of the body that you worked in the “work” segment of your class…eventually stopping and stretching for the full range of motion.. this is where I put on some sexy salsa slow music in my Zumba workout or for other classes slow funky music and stretch and talk to the class…see how they liked it and “bond” with them…this is an opportunity to build relationships with your Zumba classes…they are your number one marketing tool! You take care of them then they will take care of you. The power of word of mouth is amazing! To see proper warm ups being used in a Zumba fitness video check out www.darsfitness.com

Also if you are looking to advertise, use key people in your classes…get email addresses…people in your classes have businesses that they can put flyer up or maybe you can get an email list from them or give the flyer to them that they can forward!!!
Next time I will be talking about liability issues, fun stuff huh!!! lol…
DAR
www.darsfitness.com
