Don’t fret my dear; there are many ways to help make your Windows Vista run a little bit faster and smoother. A lot of people think you need to be a computer nerd to make your computer faster, but that is not true at all. All you need to do is really follow some simple steps and pay close attention. Read carefully and follow these directions to an absolute T.

Clear Files

One of the most important ways to keep your computer running fast is cleaning off junk files. Things like temporary Internet files, old files, cookies, and even infected files. Although this might take a few minutes, it is better then downloading a program to do it for you. If you do that, you’re just adding more programs to the computer, which is defeating the purpose of trying to clear them to make it faster. Open your Internet browser, click tools, and then click Internet options. Once you do that, under temporary Internet files click delete, then click delete cookies. After that, empty your recycling bin.

Delete Programs

If you’ve had your vista for a while, delete any old programs that you don’t use. That is, uninstall them so you can get some space back. Programs take up a lot of space, especially photo editing programs or music programs. Also delete any old photos, songs, and/or videos that you don’t use anymore.

Turn off Features

Turning off Vista features that you don’t need can help your computer run smoother. Click start, control panel, Uninstall/Change Program. Then on the left hand side click Turn Windows feature on or off, then uncheck any features that you don’t need nor want running on your computer.

Make Spyware, Mal ware and Trojans Disappear!

Deleting those things is very important to have a sleek ride with your computer. I suggest going to Google.com and looking up some different programs that you can download to check your computer for those things. I use Spyware Terminator for Spyware, AVG for Viruses, and then I just download a program for Mal ware. You can ask some fellow Vista users what they use, or look on Forums for the best known programs.

Last Call for Techniques

A few other things you can do are change some of the graphical features. Turning off some of those features will create a very big difference in speed. That is, for users who don’t really care about them very much. Another thing to look into is de-fragmenting the computer. Search for some online, Vistas doesn’t do the job you need. The last thing I suggest is doing a nice registry clean up. That is a very nice and easy way to get some speed back and get rid of the crap on your computer.

Discover how to Fix a computer today, while learning how to use the best CRM software and contract management software application for your business.
